History


The very name of the school bears the name of the founder father of SOS Children’s Village International, Dr. Hermann Gmeiner. The school was established in 1987 with a view to imparting quality education to the students of both SOS Children’s village and community in Khulna. The main criteria for entry is merit, discipline and integrity. The motto of the school is `Honesty is education, education is peace and peace is progress’. The institution follows the normal syllabus of `National Text Book Board and Education Board Jessore’. The modified education policies are properly followed in various times.  The medium of instruction is Bengali but the school gives special emphasis on English. The Classes range from Prep-1 to Class X.

The school emphasizes on liberal education. It provides an environment that helps the students grow individually. It also offers an extensive range of extra-curricular activities.

The first S.S.C Batch appeared in 2001.

Mr.Indrajit Kumar Mondal is serving  as principal after the retirement of Mrs. Shamsunnahar, the founder principal of the school. Teachers have been contributing sincerely to the development of the school from their own field. Mr. Nirmal Chandra Sarkar, Assistant Teacher (Drawing) In his efforts, the students of the school became the national champion in wall magazine and drawing competition. Mr. Kishor Kumar Bakshi, Senior Teacher (Sports) In his efforts the school volleyball team (girls) competed in the national level at 2023 and 2024.The school is conducted by the 7member managing committee.

In order to make time - consuming of other policies, including the discipline of the school, the change was made according to the decision of the Managing Committee and the Academy Committee of the School.
